CA beat Swiss CA

[<<] [>>] by Klim Seabright at Cheltenham Croquet Club
30 Aug 2010 (International)

The Croquet Association team led by Klim Seabright and including Dave Mundy, Barry Keen and Neil Kellett achieved an emphatic victory over Switzerland. The event was held over two days at the Old Bath Road lawns of Cheltenham Croquet Club. Golf and Association Croquet is becoming a regular feature of this event and the away side sent two players who played only Golf Croquet.

The first day saw the players run for cover from a thunder and lightning storm which left the lawns squelchy but playable.

The outstanding CA player was undoubtedly Dave Mundy who won five of his six games. He was closely followed by Seabright who won four of his games including a win against in form, and lower handicapped, Norman Eatough. Neil Kellett's winning ways in his Golf Croquet games were particularly impressive, since he has hardly ever played the game. Barry Keen was able to impart much of his expert strategic knowledge to his fellow team members.
Both teams enjoyed some first rate hospitality at the skipper's home and in the local restaurants and all look forward to the return fixture in Geneva.
