Nottingham win 6-1

Nottingham began their defence of the title with a trip to Bowdon. Having
agreed a leisurely start time 11am the doubles was quick and almost
clinical, Keith broke down on the triple due to misapproaching 1back. Ken
had a break from the error, but took an aggressive line of play after 2 giving
Keith the break straight back. Keith then played Ken in the singles and
failed to make the error this time for 2-0. James against Colin had some
interactivity (incompetence) before James finished to make it 3-0. On the
other lawn both games had reached 4back and peg v peg & peg in
Nottingham's favour, but with the innings in only one of them at the time.
Richard finished 5 minutes ahead of Ailsa to claim the winning point. 5-0
and off to the pub for a leisurely lunch. Having returned from lunch just in
time for tea the reverse singles were played with Andrew getting the late
consolation win.

Our thanks to Bowdon for a good match, solid hoops, and a good lunch.
