A very exciting finish to the Ireland v Scotland semi:
it's all down to Johnston and Morrison on lawn 8. Johnston was first to 4-back, Morrison has equalized. Johnston missed the lift, Morrison has jawsed the 4-back peel after 3. He was not in sufficient control for the TP, but reached penult and peg, with cross-peg leave. Johnston has hit the "last shot". Johnston takes his backward ball to the peg (no peels). So it's 4-back and peg v penult and peg.
Leave: diagonal spread, with penult ball at peg. Morrison lifts this to B-baulk, misses long shot. Johnston has made 4-back but there's no penult pioneer...
Johnston (Yellow) has not made penult, and decides not to join up.
Red (for peg) in middle of W boundary, Yellow (for penult) 12y N of 4th corner. Black (for penult) in 4th corner) Blue (for peg) 2yW of peg.
Morrison lifts Blue, and goes off 1' N of 4th corner.
Johnston (Yellow) misses Blue.
Morrison (Black) makes penult and rover off Blue. He is lining up peg-out from 4yE of hoop 1. Blue misses peg to 4 yards past. Black is pegged out.
Yellow misses Blue.
Morrison hits the peg to win.
