1st July 2011 (International)

Good morning everyone. Play is scheduled to start at 09:00 BST this morning.

Before we start I would just like to say a few words.

I apologise if I appear to have been unresponsive to suggestions about how I might improve the commentary. In my own mitigation there are several factors. My data link is by mobile broadband, I have only GPRS service and its no faster than a mobile phone, and I keep losing the connection. I have never done anything like this before :-) I'm working very long hours (yesterday 8am to 9:30pm) and I have a sick wife to look after. If I tried to complicate things for me any more I'd get very confused even if the end result might seem better for 'listeners' if I did get it right.

I hope that explains things a little.

My thanks to Phil Cordingley for making sense of my commentary and turning it into an excellent summary and to Eileen Soo who has supplied the photos and deputised for me when I have to be away.
