Shrewsbury lost to Pendle & Craven 0-6

[<<] [>>] by John Filsak at Chester
26 May 2012 (AC - Mary Rose)

Shrewsbury were due to host Pendle and Craven in the Mary Rose, but due to the condition of their newly relaid lawns, the match was held at Chester.

Chester is a great place to play croquet. Their lawns are fast and in great condition, and the mostly consistent slope presents a real challenge to visitors. Nobody really coped adequately with the conditions on the day, or got in with control, but the Pendle players managed best, and ran out 6-0 winners, with the morning doubles left unfinished (but with Shrewsbury a long way ahead).
