Reg Bamford and Charles Barlow win the Golf Croquet Open Doubles (block results included)

[<<] [>>] by Bill Arliss at Southwick
21st June 2012 (GC - Championships)

Eighteen pairs contested the Open Doubles at Southwick today. Although faced with an horrendous weather forecast, only one heavy downpour arrived in mid afternoon which most players managed to miss.

Block play produced the four semi-final pairs: Reg Bamford and Charles Barlow, Chris Sheen and Mike O'Brian, Samantha Thompson and Jacob Carr plus two of our Swedish visitors, Jonaton Andersson and Jonny Pallhed. Reg and Charles met Chris and Mike in the final and took the title with a 7-5 win thanks to some spectacular long hoops from Reg. Samantha and Jacob won the playoff for third place.
