Stephen Mulliner won the GC Open Championship

[<<] [>>] by Dr Tim King at Southwick
23rd June 2012 (GC - Championships)

Stephen Mulliner won the Championship for the third straight year. For the first time, he took the opportunity to beat Reg Bamford in the final. Reg had reached the final by beating a brave Rachel Rowe, who played well but, from 2-5 in the first game, Reg won 12 out of 14 hoops, surviving Rachel having a chance to go 6-3 up. Reg took some time to get going properly in the final. He then held a 6-3 lead in the deciding game. However, his approach to hoop 13 stuck on the hoop and Stephen made no mistake with his approach and winning hoop shot.

Rachel Rowe was awarded third place when Ryan Cabble withdrew from the third / fourth play-off.
