Nigel Polhill won the Ranelagh Gold Cup at the Roehampton Advanced Weekend.

Competitors arrived at Roehampton on a wet Saturday morning to find only two of the four lawns playable. After some democratic discussion, it was decided to create a one-day doubles tournament to keep everyone in play. The winners of the three-round knockout (with consolation games for all players) were Jane Morrison and Sam Murray.

Sunday was a lot drier, but lawn 1 was still out of action. The tournament now changed to a sixteen-person four-round knockout of 14-point advanced games (lifts at 3 and 4), using three lawns. Even with some late starts, we were able to get the winners' games completed as far as the semifinals in a reasonable time, and the final was played as a full game.

The only result that will count in the rankings - Nigel Polhill beat Campbell Morrison +26tp.

Final Rankings

1st : Nigel Polhill
2nd : Campbell Morrison
3rd/4th : Nelson Morrow/Mike Town
