On the first of two days, the competitors completed nine of the total fourteen rounds (each pair playing twice). The top two in the block will play a best-of-three final to end the second day. John Moore is playing in national tournaments again after having had a liver transplant; he and Chris Sheen have played extremely well and are currently best placed to reach the final.
