The CA beat the SCA 22-5

The annual contest between representative teams from the Croquet Associations of England and Scotland, for the Glasgow Quaich, took place over what seemed like the first really fine weekend of the season and was hosted by Middlesbrough CC at Albert Park. The CA team had players from the North East; the Scots came from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Yorkshire. In the event, the CA was able to field a significantly stronger team than the SCA and the end result was seldom in doubt. Having said that, all games were keenly contested and the weekend was a most enjoyable and sporting occasion. Thanks must go to Peter & Barbara McDermott and to Nicola Scarr for feeding us in such style at lunchtimes.
