Caroline Denny from the Bear of Rodbrough wins the Latham Cup at Bristol on the 12th May. This was the first time Caroline had entered this tournament and played well all the way through to the final where she beat Bob Scott +8.
Twelve players split into two blocks competed for the Cup in conditions that were variable but never warm enough to spectate out doors. Wind wind and more wind. Caroline's block had 3 potential winners by lunch time on Sunday, Deirdre Duggan and Richard Jackson were the other contenders but when Caroline beat Deirdre +11 the final was set.
Caroline used all her 11 bisques to keep well ahead of Bob all the way to the peg. Caroline arrived close to a handicap change and will now play off 16, and is only 5 points from becoming a 14. Good Luck to Caroline who is rapidly improving from her 22 handicap last year.
