On a glorious sunny day at Nottingham, the home side went 2-0 down before Sanaa Hallam won the other singles game before lunch. The newly-wed Ian and Debbie Lines both won in the afternoon to give Nottingham a 3-2 lead, but Rob Fulford and Colin Hemming both won in quick succession to put Colchester through to the final against Cheltenham.
