CA Seeks to Appoint International Performance Director

The CA is looking to appoint an International Performance Director (IPD), initially focused on AC, whose remit is to work with and across existing CA committees in order to drive up the CA's performance at international events. The role will be reviewed annually but is expected to run at least until the 2017 MacRobertson Shield series.

Applications are sought from suitably experienced people who are keen to improve the England performance in major events.

Apply by email to martin.french#btinternet.com by 18th May 2014. Set out how you would intend to go about the role, what you see as the major issues and how you would plan to overcome them. Include any other information you think would help the selection panel. The selection panel will be Tim King, Roger Staples, Martin French and Ian Lines.

It is a volunteer role and carries no remuneration. It reports to the Chairman of the Management Committee.

Draft Job Description

The IPD will

  • be responsible for England's performance at international singles and Team AC events
  • create and manage a sustainable International Pathway to take talented beginners through to elite performers, recruiting and directing a team of volunteers as needed
  • liaise with all parts of the CA necessary to ensure support of improved international performance, influencing recruitment strategies, the tournament programme, International matches, selection policy, bursary funding, etc.

The successful candidate should hold or be committed to achieving the highest CA (or other national equivalent) coaching qualification in AC.
