In April 2014, the CA Equipment Committee followed up on its tests from March 2013, by looking at a number of novel factors that seem to affect hoop performance, with the goal of discovering which factors could yield a more challenging hoop for top-class AC events when set in typical damp English soil. In addition to looking at carrot shape, the "grippiness" of the uprights, and the mass above ground, we tested novel (to the UK) designs from Egypt, New Zealand and Canada. The full report is available now, and a summary will be produced shortly.
