The National Seniors' returned to Sussex County CC this year after a break of 3 years when it was held at Budleigh Salterton CC.
The entry this year was disappointing, being down by about 30% on previous years, but it was good to see that 82% were in the handicap range of -1 to 5.
In the Class Events, which started on Thursday, the Seniors' Championship for the Trevor Williams Cup had 9 entrants with a handicap range from -1 to 0. It ended with a three way tie between
Simon Hathrell (Watford CC), Dave Mundy ( Cheltenham CC) and David Wise( Australia). On quality of wins Simon was declared the winner.
Class B for the Colin Hemming Cup - with a handicap range from 1 to 2.5 - was won by Michael Todorovich from America - winning all his games.
Class C for de Ansorena Cup - with a handicap range from 3 to 5 - was won by Chris Roberts from Phyllis Court CC - winning all his games.
Class D for the Nigel Graves Trophy - with a handicap range of 7 to 8 plus one 14 - was won by Elizabeth Farrow ( Sussex County CC) - winning all her games.
Class E for Handicap Play was not contested due to lack of entries.
Event 2 - the unrestricted handicap singles started on Wednesday and was played as an X and Y knockout.
The X Final was between Jonathan Lamb ( Surbiton CC) and Michael Todorovich, with Michael being the winner.
The Y Final was between David and Eileen Magee ( Cheltenham CC) with Eileen beating her husband.

Peter Death on behalf of the CA presented the trophies.
We were very lucky that the thunderstorms and rain occurred overnight, so play was disrupted.
The days were very hot, sunny and humid - perhaps a little too hot for some.
