Sophie McGlen won the Cheltenham October Handicap Tournament

[<<] [>>] by Nick Saxton at Cheltenham Croquet Club
5 Oct 2014 (AC - Handicap)

With six lawns, the entry was set at 10 visiting players and 14 Cheltenham players. The handicaps range was 20 down to -2.

The event was a Hands Ladder (Egyptian), with two matches a day and the flexibility for further matches if required. The weather was good with just the one wet game on the Saturday morning.

By Saturday afternoon the front runners seem to be Sophie McGlen, Cesar Miranda-Reyes, Michael James and Keith Davis. By Sunday lunch time Keith Davis was the only player to have won all the matches. A win in his last match would result in a tournament win. However his final opponent, Sophie McGlen, had other ideas. A powerful display of four ball break play resulted in a +26 win for Sophie.

Result
1st Sophie McGlen
2nd Cesar Miranda-Reyes
3rd Keith Davis
