In a rare evening fixture, Colchester had a fairly comfortable win. Robert Fulford and Jack Wicks won their doubles and singles matches before tea with the unfortunate Dayal Gunasekera travelling from Oxford not taking croquet.

On the other lawn things were tighter. With Nick Steiner a hoop ahead as time was called, Richard Hoskyns had a 4 foot 30 degree hoop to save the match but failed. Alan Chance notched up a win for Hurlingham, unfortunate that the team had lost already. After a fish and chips tea, the last two games were agreed to be played as 18 pt games with honours being shared between the two teams.
