England allocated at least 13 places in the World Championship

A total of 64 places have been allocated as follows. Four places have been allocated to the semi-finalists in the last Championships:
Reg Bamford (SA)
Robert Fulford (ENG)
Jacques Fournier (USA)
Dennis Bulloch (NZ)

Additional places allocated are:
England 12 places
Ireland 4 places
New Zealand 10 places
South Africa 2 places
Australia 7 places
USA 3 places

The following members have been allocated 1 place each:
Belgium, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Palestine, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland and Wales.

The Qualifying Tournament has been allocated 4 places and an initial allocation of 4 wild cards has been provided for.
