Crake Valley lost to Chester 3-4

This was a very closely fought match played on excellent lawns in the magical surrounds of the Lake District. It's the only croquet ground I know where you can watch a river flow up hill - the incoming tide of the estuary reverses the normal flow

We had typical Northern weather, 25 degrees and unrelenting sun with a quick rain shower as the last game finished. As usual, great Crake hospitality and friendliness - even got mushy peas with the fish and chips!
