Stephen Mulliner won the GC Open Championship

Stephen Mulliner beat Tobi Savage 7-6, 7-3 to win the 2016 GC Open Championship, his seventh victory since 2000. With the exception of Ahmed Nasr in 2004, the title has been shared by Stephen and Reg Bamford. In the semi-finals, Tobi recovered from 2-4 deficits in both games to beat Jamie Burch 7-6, 7-6 while Stephen defeated Harry Dodge 4-7, 7-5, 7-6.
