Having been a favourite for the last few years, Omied Hallam won the Sage Bowl at the 2016 Nottingham B Level.

He overcame last year's losing finalist, Beatrice McGlen, in a quality best-of-three final in two games. Omied also produced both of the tournaments two triple peels.

Mention must also go to Ian Draper, another local Nottingham player, for making the semis off a handicap of 5 and Sylvia Steer who had a great run in the main competition. Both were rewarded with automatic handicap reductions.

It was a welcome return for Phil Cordingley who recaptured some form throughout the weekend after major surgery and several emails to the manager, assuring him he hadn't entered the wrong tournament.

All 26 entrants enjoyed a summer weekend's Croquet on Nottingham's flat and green lawns. Brian Kerr flew a drone on the Sunday and captured a 'birds eye' view of the grounds.
