Dave Gunn won the Advanced Weekend at Edgbaston CC

[<<] [>>] by Ian Slater at Edgbaston CC
29 Aug 2016 (AC)

Dave Gunn won this B level event in fine style with six straight wins culminating in his first tournament triple peel, giving him both a handicap reduction and a CA gold award. Adrian Morris and Pat Long were well placed at the end of Sunday, Adrian having narrowly failed an attemped triple peel, but both slipped on the second day. Meanwhile Alan Clark, Geoff Johnson and (Edgbaston President) Ken Jones improved during Monday. Ken has recorded his first automatic handicap reduction since the introduction of the system! Several games were reduced to three-ball endings, with Arthur Lindley winning a careful game from peg-and-2 vs box-and-3-back.
