Guildford and Godalming beat Enfield 5-2 (Murphy Shield)

If you just looked at the score, you might think that this was a comfortable victory for Guildford and Godalming, but you would be very wrong.

A spirited Enfield team put up a tremendous fight and the outcome of the match was in doubt until, in the afternoon singles, two matches went to the 13th hoop in the third game, both being won by Guildford and Godalming.
