The Annual B level Advanced tournament at Guildford & Godalming was won by Craig Winfield with his precise, clean play. The weather was never wet, but humid and not the hot sun that had been expected. The hoops were narrowly set, and the lawns were running at 9.5 to 10 plummers.

At the end of the first day there were 4 players with 100% wins, so the Sunday morning games proved crucial in that each of them lost at least one game, leaving the result decided by Graig's win over Trevor Longman - both on 5 wins out of 6.

The last game to finish gave a suitable finale to the weekend of excellent play as Chris O'Byrne turned an interrupted sextuple attempt into a successful quintuple - so missed out on his platinum award, but received an enthusiastic round of applause.
