[<<] [>>] by Julie Horsley at Budleigh Salterton
2 Sep 2018 (AC - Mixed)

Budleigh Salterton CC hosted the Challenge and Gilbey again this year. Entries were good, but for three withdrawals due to illness the Class Event would have been full.

Mark Ormerod won the Roehampton Cup with 6/7 wins narrowly beating Tim Russell with 6/8 wins.

Peter Nelson won the Council Cup with 5/6 wins.

Graham Good won the Reckitt Cup with 5/6 wins.

Sam Watts won the Stevenson Cup with 3/5 wins.

Graham Good beat Susan Rogers in the Final of the Handicap Singles to win the Gilbey Goblet.

The Handicap Singles Consolation Event was won by Quiller Barrett.

As usual Jim Field won the fastest game.

There were no Triple Peels until the last afternoon, when in the space of half an hour there were two - one by Mark Ormerod and the other by Peter Moore.

The CA Chairman, Brian Shorney presented the trophies and on behalf of the CA thanked everyone who had been involved in hosting and running the tournament.
