Association rules tournament in February 2003 in the sun

12th September 2002 (International)

The new US National Croquet Centre is hosting a week-long Association rules tournament in February. It will run from Sunday 9th to Sunday 16th February and will comprise handicap singles, handicap doubles and level competitions by class. Each of the three events will be held on separate days, so participants may enter one, two or all three.

The NCC wanted a tournament run 'the English way', so Ian Plummer and I will be sharing the management, refereeing, etc.

It is expected that this tournament will especially appeal to Brits wanting to escape to some sun and croquet in miserable February. To this end a tour operator, Diplomatic Travel, represented by Nicky Evans (John Hobbs daughter), has put together a package comprising air travel, accommodation, tournament fees, tournament dinner, optional excursions, partner programmes, etc. 40 places have been reserved on a jumbo flying out of Gatwick on 7th and back on 18th.

We expect players from the USA, and perhaps other countries, to join us - especially for the 'A-class' event running from 13th to 16th.

For further information on the tournament itself please contact me. For further details of the all-inclusive package contact Nicky Evans (nicky.evans#diplomatic.co.uk or +44 (0)1825 740262). To enter the tournament locally Bob Alman (bobalman#aol.com) is your man.
