Chester was at home on Saturday 24th August for their third round / semi-final match in the 2019 Secretary's Shield tournament against a team from Ashby CC (nr. Leicester). On a brilliant day with temperatures reaching the high 20's C, shade from the sun was soon the refuge of choice for the out players. None of the games in the morning session saw any big break away scores although Chester managed to scrape a 3 games lead by lunchtime but, unfortunately for Ashby, the first result in the afternoon, a win for Chester, sealed the match victory for the home team. The remaining games also went to Chester giving a final result of: Chester 7 - Ashby 0.
