CA Coaching - A new first

During the last week of May, The Croquet Academy held its first online coaching course using Zoom.

The Course entitled "Adopting a Winning Mindset" was hosted by former World Croquet Champion, Stephen Mulliner. The session lasted for 2.5 hours including a coffee break at half time.

Feedback from the players attending has been very complimentary with 5-star ratings in abundance. One attendee stated:

"The chance to interact with such a high-profile player was a thrill. Content was very applicable to all croquet players. Really well presented - useful 'slides', which were apt. Technology brilliant and Stephen very adept at using it, In brief…Brilliant!!"

Jonathan Isaacs, Chairman of CA Council, having attended the course commented:

"This course suited implementation online using Zoom. It covered the content of a one-day live course in under 3 hours from the comfort of our own homes. Whilst many courses require on-court work, those covering mindset, refereeing, coaching and even tournament management could well be totally or partially conducted online."

Looking forward, The Academy is planning a modular GC Referees' Course starting in June 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused a lot of problems but has also created some excellent opportunities. Our thanks go to Richard Carline and Stephen Mulliner for implementing this new initiative.
