The CA is looking to appoint an AC International Performance Director. This is an opportunity to be involved in moulding the international players of the future and to be at the heart of England's international success in Association Croquet.
The role covers the development squad of up and coming AC players, and the elite AC squad. It may be possible to split the role accordingly. The overall duties include:
- Responsibility for the preparation and performance of England's players at international AC events, whether singles or team;
- Formulating and implementing a strategy to improve international performance in the short/medium term (i.e. the next Mac cycle) and medium/long term (i.e. future Mac cycles);
- Liaising with all parts of the CA necessary to ensure support of improved international performance, influencing recruitment strategies, the tournament programme, International matches, selection policy, bursary funding, etc.;
- Identifying and recommending players for the development squad who show potential to reach International level.
- Arranging and liaising with suitable coaches to develop the different aspects of the game required at higher levels.
- Liaison with the GC IPD and Junior Taskforce leader.
The AC IPD is not expected to be the lead coach, but rather that he or she works closely with the lead coach and the team of coaches. If the AC IPD has an interest in a particular aspect of coaching then being part of the coaching team is perfectly acceptable.
The AC IPD is expected to have some influence on the AC tournament programme, international matches, selection policy, and bursary funding.
For an informal chat about the role please speak to Rich Waterman. Applications, including a CV of relevant experience, to the Hon. Sec. Ian Vincent by 17 Jan 2021.
