Hunstanton 122nd Annual (AC) Tournament

[<<] [>>] by Philip Eardley at Hunstanton
6th September 2021 (AC - Mixed)

24 players enjoyed Hunstanton's elegant lawns and hospitality over an extended bank holiday weekend, although Sunny Hunny only lived up to its nickname for brief moments. The lawns got a dawn mow every day, prompting appreciation from the players and grumpiness from a nearby non-player.

Neil Adams played a lot better than even his new handicap: 5, in only his second season. Betty Bates had the highest handicap, won all her 3 advanced (level) games but lost all 8 handicap games.

Somehow we completed no fewer than 6 events in 4 days, although the runners up prize for the handicap had a 5-way tie resolved by a golden hoop shoot out. The new manager has returned to work for a rest, and in admiration that Martin Kolbuszewski had smoothly managed this tournament for decades.

Handicap: Neil Adams

Runner up: David Houston

A Class: Philip Eardley

B Class: Peter Thompson

C Class: Neil Adams

D Class: Betty Bates
