Martin Beacon won the Colchester B-Level Weekend

Martin Beacon won the Colchester B-Level tournament though going into the final round both Jonathan Lambton and Jeff Farrington could have triumphed if Martin had faltered but that was not to be as he cruised to a +26 over Adrian Morris. John Wells the highest handicapped player in the tournament at least managed to take Martin to time in round 4 on an otherwise relatively easy passage to winning after a five hoop triumph in round three against runner-up Jeff Farrington. Day one saw a cold wind blowing hard across the courts causing players to pile in the jumpers and even balls and swings to be impacted but the Sunday was a bright and warm occasion and it felt like summer had returned as a robin perched on the court one peg and the manager enjoyed himself sunning and chatting to the players.
