At the Special General Meeting held on Thursday 18 July the results of the poll were:

To authorise the Chairman of the Council and the Honorary Secretary to apply to the Charity Commission to register a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation to be called 'Croquet England' and to submit the draft Constitution of Croquet England in support of that application.

Votes in favour: 182

Votes against: 19

The motion was carried.

Motion 2:

To authorise the Officers and the Executive Board to transfer incrementally the assets and liabilities of the Croquet Association to Croquet England after that organisation is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

Votes in favour: 181

Votes against: 18

The motion was carried by the required majority of 3 to 1.

Samir Patel and John Reddish will now arrange for an appropriate application to be made to the Charity Commission.

A working party has been commissioned by the Council to prepare the documents that the Trustees of Croquet England will need to adopt in order to enable Croquet England to function. These will be designed to accord with the draft Consitution of Croquet England and to reflect the current practices of the CA.

The Officers, the Executive Board and the Operations Manager will commence the necessary preparatory work for the transfers and related activity.
