Noel Harris won the Daniels Cup

[<<] [>>] by Sarah Hayes at Cheltenham
4th October 2022 (AC - Handicap)

The Daniels Cup is an AC handicap event played over 2 days on the first weekend of October. This year the weather was absolutely marvellous with almost constant sunshine - this being the complete opposite of the usual conditions.

There were 5 block winners after Day 1 with unbeaten Noel Harris and Hugh Manson proceeding directly to the semi-finals. The other three namely, Robin Smith, Tony Mason and Adam Moliver endured a fast and furious race to the peg as an eliminator with Robin losing out.

Congrats to Noel Harris the eventual KO winner - demolishing Adam Moliver and then Hugh Manson to remain unbeaten over the 2 days. Hugh Manson, the runner-up, was also unbeaten (well until the final anyway) disposing of Tony Mason in the semi-final.

Sarah Hayes managed to scrape the Hands Ladder by one measly but important point from Robin Smith (the unlucky winner).

Minty Clinch made a huge comeback in her match against Keith to not only win but to throw in a 12-hoop break using bisques and earn an AC Bronze Merit Award - everyone was delighted with this as Minty had been threatening an all-round 4 ball break to peg on her last visit Cheltenham one month ago. Well done Minty!!

The undefeated Noel, in one of his many wins, also perfected a 12-hoop break without bisques to earn an AC Silver Merit award. Congrats Noel (again)!!
