Strat Liddiard

We regret to announce the death, on 6th April 2023, of Strat Liddiard.

Many members will remember him as a Scottish International and CA Council member. He was almost entirely an AC player, with a best grade of over 2200. He was a true gentleman and a charming opponent and companion. He died in hospital in Brisbane after a fall a few days ago at his home in Toowoomba.

Strat had been living in Australia since before the pandemic and had been planning to return to the UK in June for the summer. He was 72. The funeral will take place in Queensland and there are plans for there to be a link for people to watch online. There will be a memorial and/or wake in the UK in the coming summer or autumn.
