Egyptian Open, coaching and England v Egypt GC Test

The CA have arranged an opportunity for English GC players to attend the Egyptian Open (1-6 October), receive coaching from top Egyptian players and then participate in a 2-day Test Match against Egypt (7-8 October).

The CA have agreed a total funding pool of £3000 for 6 players who are available for all three segments - the Egyptian Open, the coaching and the Test. The concept is to provide a development opportunity for players with the potential to play for England in the next Openshaw Shield.

For this event the selection focus will be on developing players with the potential to play in the next Openshaw Shield, although the selectors also intend to pick a strong team that will perform well. Availability for this event will open in the next couple of days via the CA website.

Should any player not be available for all segments, but is willing to self-fund to play in just the Test, they should contact the Chair of GC Selectors.
