Wrest Park Handicap Tournament

George Collin (-0.5) won the tournament with 4 wins out of 5. His impressive (annoying?) long hitting skills were undone by Alexander Lake (12) who simply went round twice with almost half his bisques left standing. Alexander's attempt at the same in his next game on the same lawn against Eric Audsley foundered when the bisques ran out 6 hoops short. Peter Aspinall (10) to whom he also lost, made up the pipped triumvirate on 3 wins out of 4. With the north wind coming across the plain from somewhere considerably north of Bedford, it was unclear whether to wear shorts and tee shirt or several jumpers in the sunshine.
