This first round match played on a hot and sunny day at Ashby saw a keenly fought contest between the East Region rivals. Branston led at the break 2-1 with two wins in the singles whilst Ashby won the doubles. In the afternoon, Branston came out on top winning the remaining singles 2-1 with one game unfinished. All games were played in a competitive yet friendly spirit. Ashby were excellent hosts.
