The pre- tournament favourite, Neil Adams of Westmorland Croquet Club duly won the Sheila Black Salver, having won all his games in the tournament. With only 9 entrants, and players determined to continue playing through Tuesday's heavy rain, the knockout phase had identified the two finalists (Neil & Peter Wilson of Fylde) by the end of the first day. This allowed the manager to offer the finalists the opportunity to experience a best of three match for the first time. Despite a bold attempt at a triple peel in the second game, it wasn't to be Peter's day.

Mark Simmerson of Sheffield won the consolation Egyptian, and enjoyed a handicap reduction from 4.5 to 4.
