Statement regarding Opening Ceremony of the AC World Championships

An inappropriate and discriminatory comment was made at the Opening Ceremony of the AC World Championships. This was heard in the room and picked up on the live-stream. The person directly responsible has apologised to the person directly affected, the comment has been redacted from the live-stream and The Croquet Association now considers this matter closed.

However, we would like to remind everyone that The Croquet Association does not tolerate discrimination. Comments that may seem amusing to some can be very hurtful and offensive to others. The CA's Code of Conduct Code of Conduct (croquet.org.uk) and its EDI policy Inclusivity, Diversity and Equality Policy (croquet.org.uk) are clear that action will be taken if members are discourteous to others or behave in a manner that is contrary to the integrity of the sport.
