Jack Good wins the Nottingham Golf Croquet Championship
Several withdrawals left a field of 8 players for the Nottingham GC weekend. In spite of a lot of rain and an atrocious weather forecast, we had some very expedient block play and all singles block games were completed before 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon! Players chose to head home for showers and hot baths rather than attend a tournament dinner in the evening.
Some excellent play from David Thirtle-Watts earnt him a place in the knock-out, joining Jack Good, Richard Bilton and Ian Burridge. With a much drier day on Sunday both semi finals were wrapped up in 2 games, with the favourites from both match-ups (Jack Good, Richard Bilton) securing their place in the final. Jack Good won a closely fought final, earning him his second consecutive Championship Series title after his win at Bowdon earlier in July. Congratulations Jack!
