Jack Good wins the White Rose

[<<] [>>] by John Harris at York
17th August 2023 (AC)

This year's Yorkshire White Rose on 12-13 August drew players from throughout the country - Aberdeen to Devon - but in the event it was northern players who prospered most on Day 1, with Dennis Scarr (Middlesbrough), Paul Rigge (Pendle) and Jack Good (Bowdon) all closing the day unbeaten. Paul and Jack continued their run of victories on Day 2, setting up a closely fought final. Jack's +17 scoreline saw him not only finish the weekend lifting the trophy but also earning a substantial handicap reduction.

Special thanks to Graham Good, who stepped in at the twelfth hour to manage the tournament with calmness and efficiency, and to Rod Ashwell and Robert Essler who did excellent work on hoop setting.
