Debbie Lines won the Nottingham Advanced Weekend

Debbie Lines won the September AC Advanced weekend at Nottingham with 5 out of 6 wins (83.3%). Callum Johnson came second, with the same win record, whilst Clive Good and Mike Hedge came equal third with 4 out of 5 wins (80%). James Death managed to beat Jack Good +1, but lost two games, including one to Adrian Kirby -25TP.

Nottingham is a lovely venue with great lawns, so it is unsurprising that their tournaments attract players. This year saw a record number with 30 competitors. The weather was kind, with blue skies on both days. With just 2 spare players to the number of available lawns, games in the Flexible Swiss were being turned around quickly, and there was little time to sit out and watch the amusing squirrels. Thank you to the caterers for providing superb lunches and marvellous teas each day. Thank you also to Charlie and the grounds team, the lawns on the west side were running at around 11 seconds in the late afternoon sunshine, whilst those on the east lawns were just a little slower.
