Stephen Mulliner won the AC First Eight (the President's Cup)
Stephen Mulliner won the President's Cup for the sixth time in his career with 12 wins out of 14 games. Harry Fisher was second with 11/14 and James Death was third with 10/14.
The event was played in very warm and humid conditions at Bowdon Croquet Club, near Manchester. Stephen led at the end of day 1 with 4/4 and remained one win ahead of the field for the next three days, surviving some very tight moments, not least in the final round when a play-off with Harry Fisher looked very likely until almost the end of the game. His win came 31 years after his fifth win in 1992.
A full report will appear in the Croquet Gazette.
