James Death retained East Midlands Championship

[<<] [>>] by Ian Vincent at Nottingham
30th June (AC - Championships)

Debbie Lines beat James Death +26tp in the final of the Draw, but James came back to win +10tpo against her in the final of the Process, and +19 in the play-off, to win the Hopewell Cup for the fourth year running. In a good weekend for ladies, in a strong field of 29 players, Annabel McDiarmid beat Gabrielle Higgins to win the plate.

Overall, games took longer than might have been expected, given the easily paced lawns, probably due to a combination of players getting used to the Sunshiny balls and well-set hoops in fresh holes. There were also a number of close games, but the absence of time limits made watching them a bit less stressful than spectating England's +1ot win later in the day!
