It is with much sadness we report the death of Roger Staples.

Roger passed away on 30th June 2026 at his home in Long Newton, Stockton on Tees.

Our thoughts are with his wife Hilary and his family at this sad time.

Roger was a major contributor to Croquet at Federation and National level.

He served in several roles in Croquet North from the late 1990's.

At National Level, he chaired several Croquet Association Committees including the inaugural year of the Executive Committee during the Covid pandemic.

Roger received the Bernard Neal Award for his longstanding and loyal services to Croquet at a special presentation organised in his home on 21st May 2026.
