Fixtures Levy 2023

- A Fixture:
- is a tournament or a coaching course
- comprises one or more Events
- is owned and defined by an organiser, which can be any organisation (including Croquet England, a club, a federation or the WCF)
- the organiser must have an entry in the Fixtures Calendar Contacts list, which defines who is responsible for the details of the fixture (Tournament Secretary or Fixtures Calendar Contact)
- optionally has a host venue defined by the organiser (otherwise TBA)
- usually the same as the organiser for club-organised fixtures
- Each Event:
- has a Face Price defined by the organiser that
- can be zero (free)
- is the amount that the organiser will retain from an adult entry
- has a Host Club Member Price defined by the organiser that
- must be the same or less than the Face Price (and if not, is set automatically to the Face Price)
- can be zero (free)
- is the amount that the organiser will retain from a host club adult member entry
- is used as the Face Price for a player recorded in the database as a member of the host club
- has a number of Levy Days set by the organiser that controls the Tournament Levy and Playing Levy charged (see below) if applicable. It is ignored if the levy does not apply.
- can be zero only for an event that has no fee and that overlaps levied events in the same tournament, for example, a consolation event
- otherwise, a warning is raised for a fixture whose duration exceeds the sum of its events' Levy Days
- Note: warnings should be checked and acknowledged by Croquet England's Fixtures Calendar Administrator before approving the fixture to go live
- has a Face Price defined by the organiser that
- Tournament Levy (£6 per tournament)
- does not apply to coaching courses or one-day fixtures
- does not apply to a fixture whose organiser (club or federation) is not affiliated to Croquet England Associate - for example, an outside-domain fixture or a WCF fixture at a UK club
- does not apply to fixtures organised by Croquet England (the Face Price includes it)
- otherwise, is added to the Face Price of the first event a player enters in each tournament (even if the event's Face Price or its Levy Days are zero)
- Note: in TES, all applicable prices are initially displayed with the levy added and it appears as a discount for second and subsequent events entered in a fixture
- Playing Levy (£6 per Levy Day)
- does not apply to coaching courses or one-day fixtures
- does not apply to a fixture whose organiser is neither Croquet England nor an Affiliate club or federation
- does not apply if the player has a premium Croquet England subscription type or is treated as such (e.g. WCF reciprocal rights)
- otherwise, applies whether or not Tournament Levy applies and is added according to each event's number of Levy Days (i.e. not levied on one-day fixtures or those organised by out-of-domain bodies but is added to fixtures organised by Croquet England)
- Under-25 players
- are identified by the player being a Croquet England Associate in an Under-25 category
- pay half the normal price
- Croquet England Policy: the Tournament Levy (but not the Playing Levy) collected is surrendered to the organiser (£3)
- note: the fee is free of Tournament Levy but half what an adult pays where Tournament Levy is included
- Summary of levy applicability:
- No levies apply to
- one-day fixtures
- coaching fixtures
- fixtures organised by an external body (such as the WCF or foreign club), whether or not hosted at a Croquet England Affiliate Club
