Fresh from his GC B-Level wins at Sussex County and Camerton & Peasedown, Matthew Parsons (Bradford-on-Avon) headed across the Solent to join eleven other players in the Ryde B-Level.
Perhaps understandably after commuting from Camerton & Peasedown Matthew made a slow start losing two of his first three games. After that though, there was no stopping. A win against Marian Manning (returning once more to her birth place) secured them both places in the knockout.
In the other block, "Magic Mike" (aka Mike Pudney, Chichester) also commuting from his Plate win at Camerton & Peasedown, was unbeaten and along with Steve Hayns (Ryde) completed the knockout line up.
In two very close semi-finals, Matthew beat Steve and Mike beat Marian leaving the two finalists to repeat their block match from the day before at Camerton & Peasedown, in the Ryde final.
Matthew's deliberate and clinical clearing contrasted with Mike's flamboyance and exciting boundary jump shots, but the outcome was a repeat of yesterday with Matthew completing a well deserved third B-Level series title in just two weeks.
