Andrea Huxley of Guildford and Godalming CC won the Nottingham B-level golf croquet tournament at Nottingham on Wednesday 17 July remaining unbeaten after seven games. It was her first trophy win which was very pleasing.
With a field of 18 players, the event began with 3 blocks of 6 players competing. Players came from Ashby, Bury, Guidlford & Godalming, Leighton Linslade, Long Eaton, Nottingham, Ripon, Sheffield and one visitor from South Africa. Handicaps were in the range 3-8 but the event was level play. The winner of each block qualified along with the best runner up. The qualfiers were Andrea Huxley, Kathleen Wright, David Ball and Graham Good. Consolation games were also played which resulted in a total of 57 games during the day.
The finals saw the following results of Andrea Huxley beating David Ball for first and second places, 7:5 and Graham Good beating Kathleen Wright 7:5 for third and fourth places. Andrea is now eligible for the new B-Level series National Final organised by the Croquet Association on 12 October at Hamptworth.
Handicap changes from 4 down to 3 applied to both Andrea and David after their final match.
