The competition was held at Ryde Lawn Tennis & Croquet club on June the 12th following the postponed date of the 9th of May due to a severe inclement weather forecast which proved to be accurate.

The day was bathed in sunshine with 14 players, the majority being club based with two entrants from the mainland (North Island). The Competition was played via the "Swiss format" the first round being drawn by lots, with winners going on to play winners etc.

Of the 14 entries there was a broad spectrum of handicaps with all players achieving a win through the six rounds that were played. The sixth and final round was contested by Sue England who had 5 wins and her husband Nick England who had 4 wins. Nick had the better of the game beating Sue 7 - 5, which gave them both 5 wins each with a hoop count of 15 each! Nick having beaten Sue took the mantle of winner with Sue as runner up; third place went to Harry Oldham and fourth to Sue Peters
