Colin Spencer won the Hunstanton GC C-Level

27th June 2022 (GC)

Held on the Sunday following the B- Level event again this year's entries were substantially reduced in numbers and only attracted 8 entrants. However, not to be discouraged the manager decided to run the event using two blocks of four in which play was cross-blocked. Also to take into account the fast lawns and relatively high level of handicaps to impose a one-hour time limit on all games. But surprisingly only one game went to time which reflected the relatively high standard of play.

As on the previous day, the weather was very sunny made play difficult by the very high SW wind which gusted at times.

After the completion of the cross-block play the format moved into semi-finals between Tim Barzycki v Grenville Perrey 7 - 6, Roger Platt v Gary Lewis 7 -2, Ken Knock v Faulkner 7 - 3 and Colin Spencer v Susan Boxell 7 -6.

The Final proved to be a very quick affair in which Ken did not rise up to his previous level of play and succumbed to Colin 7 -1.

Winner: Colin Spencer

R/U: Ken Knock

3rd: Roger Platt

4th: Tim Barzycki
